A Flower to Remember the Lost

Now that All Saints Day is right in front of our doors and All Souls Day is fast approaching, flower shops and sidewalk flower vendors are now everywhere to be found in all parts of the Philippines selling flowers to Filipinos going to churches and cemeteries.

It has been customary for Filipinos to remember and offer offerings such as flowers to their departed loved ones when the 2nd of November comes. But not just the Filipinos, but all Christians all over the world.

All Souls’ Day commemorates the faithful departed. Among Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Christians there are several All Souls’ Days during the year. Most of these fall on Saturday, since it was on a Saturday that Jesus Christ lay in the Tomb, and are referred to as Soul Saturdays. Saturdays throughout the year are devoted to general prayer for the departed, unless some greater feast or saint’s commemoration occurs.

Christians traditionally offer flowers to their departed loved ones or friends when All Souls Day arrives. Flowers in these times are on huge demand, especially those arranged in wreaths or in bouquets. When these days arrive, flowers can get a little too pricey, particularly in the Philippines.

Dangwa, a place in the Philippines, is most popular when it comes to selling the cheapest collection of flowers around. This place is made out of 40 or more flower shops, selling Philippine flower from various locations all over the country such as Baguio City, Davao City, Tagaytay City, Cotabato City and Laguna.

Dangwa usually gets its highest peak when seasons such as Valentines Day, Mother’s Day, All Saints Days, and on the month of December arrives. These seasons gets the whole place in an uproar because Filipinos all over Manila (Read more ...)

Online Shopping in the Philippine

One of the growing trends in our day and age is online shopping. Online shopping is the process consumers go through to purchase products or services over the Internet. To put it simply, online shops evokes the physical similarity of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer or in a shopping mall, but instead using the internet.

Online shopping has made it easy for a lot of people to do their shopping. One advantage of shopping online is convenience. Online stores are usually available 24 hours a day, and many consumers have Internet access both at work and at home. A visit to a conventional retail store requires travel and must take place during business hours. Searching or browsing an online catalog can be faster than browsing the aisles of a physical store.

But there are also some disadvantages in online shopping. Consumers with dial-up Internet connections rather than broadband have much longer load times for content-rich web sites and have a considerably slower online shopping experience.

Some consumers prefer interacting with people rather than computers, sometimes because they find computers hard to use. Not all online retailers have succeeded in making their sites easy to use or reliable. In most cases, merchandise must be shipped to the consumer, introducing a significant delay and potentially uncertainty about whether or not the item was actually in stock at the time of purchase.

These are the reasons why some people are still inconsistent in using internet as the means for shopping. Among of the many developing countries today, online shopping in the Philippine is still very scarce.

Filipinos still doesn’t rely too much on online shopping. Filipinos usually use online shops for reference of what (Read more ...)

The Taste of the World

When it comes to fast food restaurants in the Philippines, Jollibee is always the word of mouth all over the Philippines. Jollibee has become a household name in the Philippines, but this name isn’t only recognized around the Philippines, but also among the major countries such as in the US.

Jollibee began as an ice-cream parlor in 1975. However, founder Tony Tan Caktiong soon saw that sandwiches and burgers offered more potential, so he studied U.S. fast-food systems and revamped his concept before incorporating Jollibee in 1978. Shares of the parent company, Jollibee Foods Corp., are traded publicly on the Philippine stock market. Check out the Jollibee web site for these.

Much of Jollibee’s success at home and abroad is tied to the greater variety of foods found on its menu compared with the bill of fare at many quick-service chains, company officials have said. Along with soft drinks, fries and burgers – including the best-selling double-patty Champ and pineapple-bacon-and-cheese topped Aloha – Jollibee sells fried, bone-in chicken, all-beef hot dogs, spaghetti, rice-based JolliMeals, such as Salisbury steak, and a turnoverlike peach-mango pie.

Jollibee officials like to characterize the chain’s menu as American fast-food favorites “prepared with an Asian-Pacific flair.” What that means, Balague indicated, is that many of the offerings feature more spices and a “slightly sweeter” flavor profile than that of their traditional counterparts.

Jollibee Food Corporation operates or franchises to others about 627 Jollibee restaurants in the Philippines. Chain sources said Jollibee controls 50 percent of the Philippine quick-service market and 69 percent of the burger business, (Read more ...)

Jollibee is where the heart truly belongs

Celebrating the first birthday of our children is as memorable as the time when we first held them in our hands. The modern way that Filipinos celebrate their children’s first birthday is to celebrate it on a restaurant where children can eat and have fun comfortably. The only place in the Philippines that can bring that sort of environment is Jollibee restaurants.

Among of the many fast-food restaurants in the Philippines, including Burger King, Wendys, and McDonalds, Jollibee restaurants are the most popular throughout the Philippines.

Jollibee Food Corporation, or popularly known as simply Jollibee, is an American type fast-food restaurant founded and based in the Philippines. As of today, Jollibee Food Corporation has now been rated as the biggest fast-food chain not only in the Philippines, but all over the world such as the United States, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Dubai and Brunei. And all of these came from a simple ice cream parlor down the streets of Cubao back in the year 1975.

Jollibee is a restaurant that gained the majority of its popularity because of their main theme, to provide joy and entertainment for the younger generations. From their famous product’s names which are Yumburger and ChickEnjoy, Jollibee is aimed to provide children a way to not just enjoy the scrumptiousness of their collection, but also have fun doing it.

An addition to Jollibee’s popularity is its acquisition of other popular fast-food chains in the Philippine. Part of growing family of Jollibee Food Corporation includes Chowking, Greenwich Pizza, Red Ribbon bakeshop, Délifrance, Mang Pepe, and Jollibee itself.

Aside from those acquisitions, Jollibee also acquired other popular restaurants from another (Read more ...)
